Steeped in Scottish heritage, this Sgian Dubh has been handcrafted from a carefully selected oak stave which has been reclaimed from a used whisky barrel at the end of it’s working life.
This beautiful piece of oak has been cut and professionally engraved with a Celtic knot design before being sanded, inlaid and finished with a protective lacquer. The reverse of the Sgian Dubh retains the unique residual pattern from the original charring of the cask, a process used in the whisky industry to both impart flavour and filter the maturing spirit.
This rich and warm wood has a beautiful grain pattern which is ideal for those individuals who are looking for a truly unique item to compliment their highland wear
The Sgian Dubh is an integral part of Scottish highland dress and is a traditional single edged knife worn within the kilt sock on the same side as the wearer’s dominant hand.
Every sgian dubh comes complete with an attractive leather sheath.
The images shown represent the actual item you will receive and, due to the individual nature of each piece, all sizes are approximate.
